Hull and East Yorkshire Home Birth Group is an informal, peer-led support group set up in October 2011 by local women who have all given birth to their children at home. The group supports local families who are considering home birth as an option to make an empowered and informed decision on their birthing options. The group aims to -
on the option of home birth with a view to supporting them to have a positive home birth experience. Hull and East Yorkshire Home Birth Group also work with local maternity services to ensure the correct information and support is given to those choosing to give birth at home. The group runs regular, informal meetings that are often attended by local midwives, doulas, hypnobirthing practitioners, breastfeeding peer supporters and antenatal teachers, many of whom have had home births themselves, and who can offer additional information and support on home birth along with other areas of pregnancy and beyond. Our community is ready to welcome you on your home birth journey, having other people to talk to who have been through a home birth can offer support and reassurance either by asking questions in our private Facebook discussion group or by attending one of our meetings. |
