Fenchurch and Octagon Family Hub Launch Event
Fenchurch and Octagon Family Hubs held the Family Hub launch events in April to promote. services for families with children of all ages (0-19), or up to 25 for those children with special educational needs and disabilities. The Family hubs act as a ‘one stop’ shop where families can access important services, information advice and support making it easier for families to get the help, when they need it.
Celebrating by holding family fun events with lots of fun activities to enjoy such as, Easter egg hunt, face painting, craft activities, Spectac-U-Lab science, Easter hat making, smoothie bike and much more.
It was a great opportunity to showcase the Family Hubs partnership with Goodwin, partnership Hull City Council and other key partners. Our elected members attended and offered their support to the work we do. We promoted the Best Start for life and Early Help offer, as well as bringing services together to promote support available in the local community, making services easier to access. We would like to thank Home Start, Accident prevention, House of Light, Renew, Oral Health, local PCSOs, Book start, Healthy lifestyle team, Goodwin Youth team and Doula and Breastfeeding for supporting the day.
At the core of our offer is the 1001 days best start for life offer, providing a wide range of services for parents and carers from pregnancy until the child’s second birthday. Family Hubs provided 1001-day taster sessions throughout the day such as sensory, Gro brain, PEEP learning together and Infant massage.
All children were provided with a pack up funded through the HAF (Holiday activity fund) Freshly made pizza was also available at the Octagon event provided by Goodwin Development Trust. Children were particularly excited to receive an Easter egg donated by Hull Vineyard to support the Easter egg Hunt.
The events were very successful engaging over 230 families
