Hull City Council, as part of Hull’s Early Help Partnership, are excited to be showcasing a range of free events and activities across the city to celebrate Baby Week.

The partnership is joining together with parents, carers, committed team and partners to ensure all children get the best start in life. Baby Week provides the opportunity to highlight the importance of the first 1001 days of a child’s life, so they can thrive and grow into happy and healthy children and adults.

Baby Week is a registered charity and by celebrating services and raising awareness about the importance of early childhood, Baby Week aims to make the UK the best place to grow up in.

Baby Week takes place from 14th – 20th November. Events in Hull are taking place in locations across the city, including Family Hubs, Libraries, Museums and St Stephen’s Shopping Centre.

The timetable will feature a Celebration Event at the Central Library, where taster sessions including Child Health First Aid will be available, as well as a chance to speak to professionals.  Other sessions across the city include ante and post-natal pregnancy exercise, baby sensory and explore and play sessions. Families can also join a guided Milk Trail which will visit some of the nine breastfeeding friendly venues around Hull, including Museums and Libraries.

Councillor Linda Tock, the portfolio holder for Children’s Services at Hull City Council, said: “I hope parents will take advantage of the free events we have on offer this Baby Week, which will not only help with their child’s development, but will help to strengthen the bond between parent and child as well.”
