Hull City Council Wins Award!

Hull City Council was recently successful in achieving the most sustainable local authority award at the recent Yorkshire and Humber Infant Feeding Awards.
The award is in recognition of the work the council and partners have recently delivered to improve breastfeeding rates in the city. Some of which includes a local Milk Trail that show cases some of the breastfeeding friendly venues in the city, a dedicated events gazebo that was designed in collaboration with pupils from local primary schools and provides a safe space for families wanting to feed their children as well as the recently commissioned baby feeding practitioners who support families local within Midwifery and the local community. All of these interventions and the hard work of key individuals have had a substantial impact on the continuation rates of breastfeeding with Hull now only 2% away from stating it is a predominantly breastfed city.
